Sheikh Abdul Qadir Qazan Qaya was the uncle of Sheikh Abdul Karim Shah Al-Kasnazani Quddissah Sirruh. In his youth, Sheikh Abdul Karim had a passion for hunting. One day, while on a hunting trip, he saw a huge gazelle standing before him proudly. Abdul Karim thought to himself, “This is what I long for, hunting such a gazelle will be a great victory.”
Abdul Karim moved closer to the gazelle little by little, and the gazelle remained still in its place, not moving until he was close enough. When he got near, the gazelle opened its mouth and said, “You came to hunt us, Abdul Karim, but we have hunted you.”
Abdul Karim was astonished by this strange situation, and he hurried back to his uncle, Sheikh Abdul Qadir Qazan Qaya, to tell him what happened. When he entered the gathering of the dervishes, he raised his hand in greeting, and his uncle immediately replied, saying, “O Abdul Karim, tell us about the gazelle you intended to hunt. Did you catch it?”
This story became a sign of spiritual unveiling, a unique occurrence in the world of Sufism. At that moment, everyone present in the gathering exclaimed, “It is your turn, O Abdul Karim.” Abdul Karim was stunned by the situation and immediately turned to his uncle, kissed his feet, and asked for guidance and blessings.
