Towards Divine Light and Blessings with the Kasnazani Tariqa

The Instructions of the Tariqa

Dear Seeker of Truth,

Our daily lives are filled with responsibilities and endless tasks. Iّn this busy world, many of us struggle to find time for ourselves, let alone connect with our Creator. The Qadiri Kasnazani Sufi Pathway (Tariqa) offers a simple program that can be incorporated into even the busiest moments, opening the doors to peace and light.”

But this simplicity is not the end of the journey. The Path is for everyone, at every stage of life. It provides a comprehensive and infinite program, whether you’re a beginner taking your first steps or an advanced seeker who has spent years on this path.

This journey is simple, yet profound. The Path is a way to connect with the Truth—whether you are a busy professional or a seasoned spiritual practitioner.

Begin your journey today. For peace in the present, and infinite growth for the future!

Beginning the Practice of Tariqa Instructions

Those who join the Tariqa are required to follow a series of invocations (Dhikrs) with specific numbers and sequences.

The remembrance of Allah (Dhikr) is one of the most essential practices in the Tariqa.

Allah Almighty says in verses 41 and 42 of Surah Al-Ahzab:

“O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance. And exalt Him morning and afternoon.”

Dhikrs of the Tariqa are divided into two main categories:

1.    The Perennial Dhikrs (Nineteen Dhikrs):

  • These Dhikrs, consist of 19 distinct phrases, each to be recited 100,000 times in a specific order.
  • They are like a “ladder” with 19 steps that brings the seeker closer to Allah.
  • Sultan Muhammad Al-Muhammad Al-Kasnazan Al-Qadiri (may Allah sanctify his secret) likened them to a key with 19 teeth, such that the door to the secrets of the Tariqa does not open for the disciple until this key is fully formed.

2.    The Daily Dhikrs (After Prayer Dhikrs and Asr Dhikrs):

  • These shorter Dhikrs are recited to preserve blessings, restore the soul from daily harm, and protect against external negative influences such as the evil eye and devils.

The Importance of Order and Adherence in Dhikrs

  • The Perennial Dhikrs begin with the phrase “La ilaha illa Allah” and must be performed in the specified order.
  • Just as one cannot climb a ladder starting from the second step, skipping the prescribed order in the Dhikrs of the Tariqa is not permissible.

The Relationship Between Dhikrs and the Number 19

In 1974, Dr. Rashad Khalifa, using a computer, concluded that the number 19 plays a key role in the structure of the Holy Quran and is recognized as one of the aspects of its mathematical miracle. Interestingly, the number of Dhikrs in the Tariqa, which consists of 19 Dhikrs, predates this discovery by many years. This alignment serves as evidence of the divine origin, authenticity, and validity of the Tariqa’s path and affirms its deep connection to divine teachings.

Benefits of the Dhikrs of the Tariqa

Reciting Dhikr is akin to blowing on a fire; it intensifies the flame of divine love in the seeker’s heart, making it brighter and more fervent. These Dhikrs, or divine inscriptions, are rooted in the covenant that Allah took from humanity in the primordial realm, as stated in the verse: “Am I not your Lord? They said, yes indeed” (Surah Al-A’raf: 172).

These divine inscriptions are inherent in human nature from birth, but sins and distancing from God diminish their impact and lead to their forgetfulness. This is why a three-year-old child can memorize the Quran, as its verses are embedded in their innate nature. (The youngest known memorizer of the Quran in the world is Abdul Rahman Farah, a three-year-old Algerian child. He began speaking at the age of two and, within one year, was able to memorize the entire Quran.)

The Dhikrs of the Tariqa are like a comb that untangles the knots of the soul and restores it to its original pure and pristine state. The Perennial Dhikrs are like the first combing that untangles hair, while the Daily Dhikrs resemble the consistent combing that maintains the beauty and smoothness of the hair.

The reason a comb is effective on hair lies in the alignment of its teeth with the natural waves of the hair. However, if a comb is used on something that cannot be combed, like sand, no change occurs due to the lack of structural compatibility.

Similarly, the effectiveness of Dhikrs on a person depends on the presence of divine imprints within their nature. These imprints may have faded or weakened due to negligence and sins. However, renewing one’s covenant with Allah and adhering consistently to the Dhikrs revives these divine imprints within the spirit and soul, bringing them forth anew, clear and radiant.

The Importance of Dhikrs in Daily Life

Dhikrs enhance spiritual growth and bring blessings into one’s life. Allah says in Surah Taha (124):
“And whoever turns away from My remembrance – indeed, he will have a depressed life.”

Furthermore, Allah highlights the importance of Dhikr after prayer in Surah An-Nisa (103):
“And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying on your sides.”

The Perennial Dhikrs

The nineteen Perennial Dhikrs and their benefits are as follows; each Dhikr must be recited 100,000 times. A person should start with the first Dhikr, and after completing it, move on to the next one, continuing in this manner until completing the nineteenth Dhikr, then return to the first one again. There is no strict time limit for completing each Dhikr. However, it is recommended for new seekers to complete the first and second Dhikrs within a total of 40 days (20 days each) by reciting them 5,000 times daily.

The first Dhikr (“La ilaha illa Allah”) is recited to counteract “the Commanding Self (Al-Nafs Al-Ammarah),” which incites one toward sin. The second Dhikr (“Allah”) addresses “the Reproaching Self (Al-Nafs Al-Lawwama).” The benefits of these Dhikrs are elaborated further in the section site titled “Dhikrs and Their Benefits.”

Here is the translation of the 19 Perennial Dhikrs along with their explanations.

It is not recommended for individuals who have not taken the Pledge of the Order to use them.

If you are interested in reciting these Dhikrs, you can contact us through the “Contact Us” section to take the necessary steps for joining the Tariqa.

Audio Files of the Dhikrs:

The following audio files contain the Perennial (nineteen) and the Daily Dhikrs of the Tariqa. They can be used for learning and repeating along with the audio, as listening alone is not sufficient.

Regarding the perennial Dhikrs:
If the person is in circumstances where counting the Dhikrs is not feasible, they can use the audio files, where each Dhikr is repeated a thousand times. These files can be listened to while driving or during other activities, with focused repetition along with the audio.

Important Note:
Listening alone to these Dhikrs is not enough; they must be recited with focus and tranquility of heart.

Additional Instructions:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
“Islam began as something strange, and it will return to being strange as it began, so blessed are the strangers.”

The additional instructions are as follows:

  • Ablution (Wudu):

Translation:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

I have repented and returned to Allah.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Compassionate and Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Concealing and Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Appreciative and Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Self-Sufficient and Forbearing.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

I seek forgiveness from Allah; indeed, Allah is Most High and Great.

I seek forgiveness from Allah, and there is no power or strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

I seek forgiveness from Allah with every act of seeking forgiveness.

I seek forgiveness from Allah as many times as those who seek forgiveness.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself, my parents, and all the believing men and women. Answer our supplications, O You who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins. Forgive us for what has passed and what is to come, through Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

There is no power or strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for every sin I committed, whether intentionally or mistakenly, secretly or openly, small or large.

I turn to Him in repentance for the sin I am aware of and the sin I am unaware of.

Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen, the Forgiver of sins, the Concealer of faults, the Reliever of distress, and the Opener of hearts.

This is the repentance of a servant who is wrongdoer, who possesses no harm or benefit, no death, no life, and no resurrection for himself.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for all that Allah has prohibited, for all that Allah has disliked, for all that Allah has forbidden in word and deed, present or absent.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for every sin.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for every mistake.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for every wrongdoing, and I turn to Him in repentance.

I seek forgiveness from Allah, and there is no power or strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

I seek forgiveness from Allah, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, for all sins and wrongdoings.

I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Great and Generous, the One whom there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.

We ask Him for repentance, forgiveness, and guidance for us. Indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

I seek forgiveness from Allah for all sins.

I have followed the teachings of the masters of this spiritual chain, acknowledged their knowledge, adhered to their commands, and refrained from their prohibitions.

Our Lord, do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed, You are the Bestower.”

He is Ever-Living, All-Knowing, All-Hearing, All-Seeing, All-Willing, All-Powerful, All-Speaking, and All-Creating.

Allah does what He wills by His power and judges as He wills by His might.

Unquestionably, to Him belongs the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.”

I believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and resurrection after death as truth.

I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

I am content with Allah as my Lord, Islam as my religion, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my prophet.

The Kaaba is my direction, the Quran is my guide and leader, and the believers are my brothers.

My Lord is Allah, my religion is Islam, and my prophet is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do not know.

Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen, and there is no power or strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.

2. Nightly Istighfar (Seeking Forgiveness):

It is obligatory for the Caliphs (spiritual successors) and Guides (Murshids), and recommended for the disciples. It is recited after the Isha prayer and up until before Fajr, in the amount chosen by the individual.

Allahumma inni astaghfiruka lima tubtu ilayka minhu thumma ‘udtu fihi, wa astaghfiruka lima wa’adtuka min nafsi thumma akhlaftuka fihi, wa astaghfiruka lima aradtu bihi wajhaka al-kareem fakhalaṭani fihi ma laysa laka fihi ridha, wa astaghfiruka lil-ni’ami alati an’amta biha ‘alayya fataqawwitu biha ‘ala ma’asiak, wa astaghfiru Allah alladhi la ilaha illa huwa al-hayy al-qayyum ‘alim al-ghaybi wal-shahada al-rahman al-raheem, likulli dhanbin adhnabtuhu wa likulli ma’siyatin irtakabtuhu, wa likulli dhanbin ataytuhu ahata ‘ilm Allah bihi.

Translation:

“O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for what I repented to You for and then returned to. I seek Your forgiveness for what I promised You from myself but then failed to fulfill. I seek Your forgiveness for what I intended solely for Your Noble Face, yet something not pleasing to You mixed with it. I seek Your forgiveness for the blessings You bestowed upon me, which I then used to strengthen myself against Your obedience. I seek forgiveness from Allah, there is no god but He, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer, Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most Merciful and Compassionate, for every sin I have committed, every transgression I have perpetrated, and every sin I have brought forth, which the Knowledge of Allah has encompassed. O Allah, send the reward of this Istighfar to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to the noble spiritual masters of the Qadiri Kasnazani Sufi Order (may Allah sanctify their secrets), and to my parents, ancestors, spouse, and children.”

3. The Special Supplication:

This special supplication should be recited once (either during the day or at night):

Allahumma innaka ta’lamu sirri wa ‘alaaniyati, faqbal ma’adhirati, wa ta’lamu haajati fa a’tini su’aali, wa ta’lamu ma fi nafsi faghfir li dhunoobi.
Allahumma inni as’aluka imanan yubashiru qalbi, wa yaqeenan saadiqan, hatta a’lama annahu lan yuseebani illa ma katabtahu ‘alayya, farzini bima qasamtahu li, ya Arham ar-Rahimeen.

Translation:

O Allah, You know my secrets and what I make public, so accept my excuse. You know my needs, so grant me my request. You know what is in my heart, so forgive my sins.
O Allah, I ask You for faith that penetrates my heart and true certainty, so that I may know that nothing will befall me except what You have decreed for me. Make me content with what You have apportioned for me, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.

5. The Qadiri Protection Invocation This invocation is mandatory for Caliphs and Guides (Murshids), recited after the Fajr prayer with the intention of protection from all earthly, heavenly, human, and jinn harm:
  1. “Hasbuna Allah wa ni‘mal Wakil” (100 times)

Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

  1. “La ilaha illa Anta Subhanaka inni kuntu mina al-zalimin” (100 times)

There is no deity but You, glorified are You! Truly, I have been among the wrongdoers.

  1. “Wa ufawwidu amri ila Allah inna Allaha Basirun bil-‘ibad” (100 times)

And I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of [His] servants.

  1. “Rabbi inni massaniya al-durru wa Anta arham al-rahimin” (100 times)

My Lord, indeed adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

  1. “Alladhina qala lahumu al-nasu inna al-nasa qad jama‘u lakum fakhshawhum fazadahum imana wa qalu hasbuna Allah wa ni‘mal Wakil” (6 times)

Those to whom people said, ‘Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But it [only] increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.’

  1. On the seventh recitation, add:
“Fanqalabu bini‘matin mina Allahi wa fadlin lam yamsashum su’ wa attaba‘u ridhwan Allahi wa Allahu dhu fadlin ‘azim.”

So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

It concludes with the following Divine Invocation:

O Allah, I beseech You by the sanctity of the essence and the secret of the essence, for that essence and secret are Yours, and You are the very essence and the secret itself.
I construct a shield for myself with the Light of Allah, the Light of the Throne of Allah, and with all the Names of Allah, against my enemy and the enemy of Allah.
With the Seal of the Protector, who has sealed the heavens and the earth with His seal, I safeguard myself, my faith, and all that Allah has granted me.
Allah is sufficient for us, for He is the best Guardian, the best Patron, and the best Helper.
May blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and all his companions.

6. The Surahs After Friday Prayer
After the Dhuhr or Friday prayer, the following blessed Surahs must be recited seven times in the following order:

  • Surah Al-Fatiha
  • Surah Al-Ikhlas
  • Surah Al-Falaq
  • Surah An-Nas

Through this practice, Allah forgives the seeker’s sins and protects them and their family from harm until the next Friday. It serves as a guarantee from Allah, the Most High.
