How to Join the Tariqa?
Steps to Perform the Spiritual Pledge (Bay'a)
1. Performing the Bay'a:
- The Bay’a is conducted by the Sheikh of the Tariqa or one of his authorized deputies.
- It is strictly prohibited to accept any money, gifts, or material benefits for giving the Bay’a. Any violation of this rule will result in the individual being excluded from the Qadiri Tariqa.
2. In-Person Bay'a:
- If the person taking the pledge is a man, he places his right hand in the hand of the Sheikh or his representative.
- If the person taking the pledge is a woman, she holds the Sheikh’s or his representative’s prayer beads (Tasbih) in her right hand and repeats the phrases recited to her.
- The pledge is performed in designated places such as Takyas or Khanqahs (Sufi lodges).
Visiting a Takya:
For those wishing to visit the nearest Takya, please contact us via the “Contact Us” section. We will provide you with the address of the closest Takya to your location.
3. Bay'a via Phone or Online:
- The Bay’a can be performed from home or your workplace conveniently without needing to visit the Takya.
- During a phone Bay’a, the individual holds the phone in their right hand and repeats the phrases dictated by the Sheikh or his representative.
4. Group Bay'a via Phone:
- For larger groups wishing to join the Tariqa, the phone can be placed on speaker mode.
- One person holds the phone in their right hand, while the others place their right hand on the right shoulder of the person in front of them.
5. Arrangement of Men and Women:
- If the participants include both men and women, the Bay’a is conducted for men first, followed by women.
- A man holds the phone, sets it to speaker mode, and the rest of the men stand behind him, placing their right hand on the right shoulder of the person in front of them. The same arrangement is repeated for the women.
How to Connect and Join the Tariqa
If you are interested in joining the Qadiri Kasnazani Tariqa and experiencing a new life filled with tranquility and closeness to Allah, we invite you to participate in one of our online programs. These programs are held daily at 8 PM Baghdad time (corresponding to 5 PM GMT) on YouTube. Through the link below, you can easily join the session, take the Tariqa in just 5 minutes, and begin your spiritual journey.
What Should You Do After Joining the Tariqa?
Taking the Tariqa and repenting clears the veils from the heart and illuminates the mirror of the human soul with the light of divine love and mercy. This mirror is polished through dhikr (remembrance of God), cleansing it of sins and increasing its clarity. For more details on this topic, refer to the section “The Impact of Dhikr on Human Existence” at the end of this part.
The Importance of Dhikr:
Dhikr is one of the most essential practices in the Tariqa and must be performed according to a specific method and program.
- After repentance and the pledge, the first dhikr must be “La ilaha illa Allah” (“There is no deity but Allah”).
- This dhikr is the first of 19 Perennial dhikrs in the Tariqa, explained in detail in the “Instructions of the Tariqa” section on the website.
- Each dhikr must be recited 100,000 times.
How to Begin Dhikr:
- At the beginning, a new member of the Tariqa does not need to perform other dhikrs. They should focus solely on the first dhikr, “La ilaha illa Allah.”
- The first dhikr can be completed by reciting it 5,000 times daily or more, allowing its completion within 20 days or less.
- After completing the first dhikr, you may contact us through the “Contact Us” section to receive further instructions or visit the “Instructions of the Tariqa” section on the website.
Daily Dhikr Program:
- As mentioned earlier, a new member of the Tariqa should aim to recite the first dhikr, “La ilaha illa Allah” (“There is no deity but Allah”), at least 5,000 times daily.
- Each set of 1,000 recitations takes approximately 20 minutes. Therefore, completing 5,000 recitations will take about an hour and a half daily.
- It is not necessary to complete all 5,000 recitations in one session. They can be divided into three sessions (morning, noon, and evening), each lasting 30 minutes.
- If completing 5,000 recitations daily is difficult, the number can be adjusted according to one’s capacity.
How to Keep Track of Dhikr:
To count the dhikr, one can use a tasbih (prayer beads) or an electronic counter. While this may seem challenging initially, it will become routine over time.
Important Notice:
The Impact of Dhikr on Human Existence
After repentance and joining the Tariqa, performing dhikr becomes one of the most essential practices. The role of dhikr and its connection to repentance can be illustrated through a simple analogy:
Unlocking the Heart’s Lock
Imagine your heart as a box containing a mirror. This box has been locked for a long time. When you repent and join the Tariqa, the lock on this box is opened. As mentioned in the Quran, Surah Muhammad (47:24):
“Do they not then reflect on the Quran, or are there locks upon their hearts?”
Cleansing the Heart’s Mirror of Rust
After opening the box, the light of Allah enters and shines upon the heart’s mirror. However, this mirror is often tarnished by the rust caused by sins and negative actions. To clean and polish this mirror, the specific dhikrs of the Tariqa are used. This is supported by the Quran in Surah Al-Mutaffifin (83:14):
“Nay! But on their hearts is the stain of that which they used to earn.”
Results of Dhikr:
- Purifying the Heart: Through dhikr, a person’s heart is cleansed of rust, reflecting the light of divine love and mercy.
- Strengthening Faith: The heart’s faith is enhanced to the extent that the believer becomes a mirror of Allah, reflecting His light. The hadith “The believer is the mirror of believer” may refer to this phenomenon. In Surah Al-Hashr (59:23):
“The Believer (Al-Mu’min), the Overseer (Al-Muhaymin), the Exalted in Might (Al-Aziz), the Compeller (Al-Jabbar), the Superior (Al-Mutakabbir)” – “Al-Mu’min” is one of Allah’s names.
Transmitting Light to Others:
When the heart’s lock is opened and polished through dhikr, Allah’s light enters the heart and is transmitted to one’s family and surroundings. Such a person becomes beloved and charismatic to the point where even animals are drawn to them because all creatures naturally love divine light.
The Innate Sense of Creatures:
- You may have observed that some animals attack certain individuals but are affectionate toward others.
- Similarly, children may calm down in the arms of one person while crying in the arms of another. This is because both children and animals possess an innate ability to sense light, blessing, and charisma.
Success in Life:
Tangible Effects of Joining the Tariqa:
Through repentance and joining the Tariqa, a direct impact is observed on the radiance of the face, the sparkle in the eyes, and an overall enhancement in appearance.
You can verify this yourself. We recommend that those who join the Tariqa take a photo of their face before starting and another photo after a week of daily dhikr. By comparing the two photos, the noticeable difference will be evident.
Begin your journey of remembrance and uncover the light and blessings in your heart and life.
